first list about mom

I tried to remember what my mother liked. I wanted to think of something positive about her. But all I could remember were the things she didn't like. She did not like:

love stories
purple
fish
perfume
birds
my father
my father's wife
shopping
being sober
cleaning
exercise
flying
elevators
most men

Okay, now I feel like I have to come up with a few things she did like. Here goes:

horror movies
sugar
cigarettes
coffee
sleeping with the television on
Judge Judy
baking
my sister and I as children
writing about stuff
red meat
weed
prescription drugs
cats
her granddaughter

How about that? I managed to come up with 14 of each.

Happy New Year to all my Jewish friends. A good Fall season to my non-Jewish friends. And a Happy Halloween to all my pagan friends. My home has been bustling with activity over the past few weeks. Lots of Holiday meals were consumed. Some fasting went on... by my husband, I am still carrying my "get out of fasting free" card. Still nursing, so I did partake of some water and a little food on Yom Kippur. Last year I was pregnant, the year before nursing my daughter, and the year before that I was pregnant. This new year I hope to be a little more organized and better rested.
